Hello Fall!

Hello Fall and Hello Tuesday! Ahhh, the first day of Fall is so exciting and in North Carolina it actually feels like Fall today the temperature is 71 degrees. I've taken the whole summer off from blogging (who knew a newborn would take up so much of your time) but I am slowly getting back into the blogosphere. Preston will be 6 months tomorrow, time sure is flying by. I have a lot of things to blog about and tell you all about my new business venture that could bring major changes to this blog and helping others who blog as well! So I hope you will stick around.

What's In My Bag

Happy Wednesday! I love reading what's in my bag posts so when I was contacted to be apart of the "What's In Your Purse" campaign from Credit Card Insider I immediately jumped on board. I always wonder what other Women carry around in there purse everyday and do we haul around similar items. A purse is a Woman's private sanctuary and what's in it can tell a lot about the person, with that being said, here's what I'm currently hauling around!

First up the bag is from Francesca's and it's on sale!! It was a Mother's Day gift and it's the newest to the purse collection aaannnnd I just love the green color!

1. Kodak Camera in a Fossil pouch, I usually don't carry this camera around because normally I just use my Android phone to take pictures but just so happens its in there.

2. Leopard print eye glass case and Betsey Johnson glasses. I wear glasses but I don't wear them like I'm supposed too. I keep them with me at all times just in case I'm some where and I can not see/read something. I also use them for driving especially at night.

3. Pocket Journal, I get inspired a lot when I'm out and feel the need to write things down. I love the design on this little journal, it came in a pack of three from World Market. It was also one of my Mother's Day gifts. :)

4. 2014 Weekly Day Planner, let me start by saying this planner is the best!!!!! It's a Gallery Leather product and I had the same exact one for 2013 and will probably get the same exact one for 2015. It has a 2014 - 2015 calendar, weekly planning pages, pages for notes, reference/world map section and much more. It retails for $26 but I got it on a super sale back in February at Barnes & Noble for $8 bucks which is straight steal!! I use this planner to plan my days and write down blog posts ideas, it pretty much goes with me everywhere.

5. San Disk Flash Drive, as a Graphic Designer, I have a lot of work and files that need to go with me when visiting the local printer. So this little flash drive comes in handy!

6. Business Cards, I carry them all the time. It's time for some new ones though!

7. Fossil Wallet, this wallet is great it holds all my money, credit cards and everything else. It's genuine leather and has a lot of compartments too.

8. Samsung Galaxy III - Love this phone!!!

9. Hair Comb

10. Victoria's Secret Love Spell Lotion

11. Fabric Covered Mirror

12. Bath & Body Works Pocket Bac Aromatherapy Hand Sanitizer in Stress Relief Eucalyptus Spearmint, I love this scent!! It comes in very handy when you need to sanitize your hands.

13.  Victoria's Secret Pure Seduction Eau de Toilette, with this hot weather right now you never know when you might need to splash on a little perfume so I keep this in my purse because it smells so good.

14. Highlighter's and Pens, I keep these because one I'm always needing to write something down and the highlighter's just add extra pizzazz!!

15. Julep Rock Star Hand Creme, I can't stand for my hands to be (in no other words but) "ashy". This hand creme comes in handy I pretty much use it like 5 times a day! Seriously!!

16. The Body Shop Born Lippy Lip Balm In Mango Peach

17. The infamous/ever changing makeup bag! I got this makeup bag at Victoria's Secret earlier this year and I love it. It has a pink/ black polka dot nylon fabric on the inside so its easy to wipe down and clean. I would go through the items that are currently in it but that is whole other blog post waiting to happen soon. ;)

So that concludes "What's In My Bag", I would love to hear what you haul around in your bag. Leave a comment or if you've ever did a What's In Your Purse blog post leave a link in the comments section. :)

Have a great middle of the week!!

Dr. Brandt Pores No More

Happy Monday! If you have oily skin or large pores you've probably found that all face primers are not the same. I've used a lot of different face primers and I've had luck with some of them and some of them I have not due to my oily skin. Dr. Brandt's Pores No More Pore Refiner is becoming my holy grail primer, I'm amazed at how much this primer absorbs the oil and mattifies the shine on my face. I've been using this primer for about a month now and I love it!

It minimizes pores, smoothes & evens your skin out and you can wear it under or over your makeup. Heck, you can wear it without makeup, that's how great it is! It is a lightweight flesh colored primer that blends into all skin tones.

I don't use very much, just in the areas where I tend to get oily a lot like my T-zone area nose and cheeks. It also comes in a tube with a pump which is very convenient.

The key ingredients in this product are microspheres, flaxseed and tea tree oil, it also has silicones which help to create that blurring airbrushed effect. Dr. Brandt's Pores No More Pore Refiner retails for $45 and can be purchased at Ulta. The two selfies below are of me wearing the product with a full face of makeup.

I just love how my face is not oily and looks very smooth. If you have not tried this product, what are you waiting for? If you have, I would love to hear what you thought of it!

BASTAR Pro Makeup

Happy Friday! Earlier this week I received an eye shadow product from Ba Star Pro Makeup through a campaign Brand Backer is hosting. I've never heard of Ba Star Pro Makeup but its a company that works mostly with dance studios and schools providing makeup for they're cheer teams and dance teams.

I was sent the Midnight Smoky Eye Shadow Palette and Body Shimmer Base. The eye shadows are made to be high pigment and long lasting.

I can imagine ladies that are on dance or cheer teams need makeup that will last, there's a lot of movement and perspiration involved. There's five eye shadows in the palette ranging from a shimmery white, light grey, dark gray, black and blue.

It also comes with an applicator to apply the eye shadows. The applicator is very cheap I would suggest using a different brush to apply the eye shadows along with a more tacky eye shadow primer due to the amount of fall out. I'm really not a fan of this color palette so I decided not to post my test pictures here on the blog.

The eye shadow also came with a Body Shimmer Base, I wasn't really sure if this product was meant to use on your body or on your eyelids as a primer for the eye shadow so I didn't bother testing it out. Apparently, its supposed to be long lasting, sweat resistant and add metallic quality to star dust, depth to eye shadows.
Ba Star offers other eye shadow palettes as well on their website. A few that I would consider wearing and reviewing would be the Spicy Natural or Pretty N Pink Palettes. The eye shadow palettes retail from $1.99 to $8.75.

If you're in the dance, cheer or theatre scene I would recommend the Ba Star makeup because it is high pigmented and I can really see how it would last but if you're not I would not suggest purchasing these particular eye shadows to wear on a day to day basis. I really wish that I had the opportunity to choose the color palette that most fits my personality, I may have had different views on this brand.

Have a great weekend!!

Mary Kay VoxBox Review #MKGLAM

Happy Wednesday! I'm so excited that Influenster chose me to be apart of the Mary Kay Glam VoxBox program!! For those who are not familiar with Influnster here's a little summary of what it is all about. Influenster is an online community of trendsetters, social media masterminds, and educated consumers who live to give opinions of products and experiences. Influenster select members of the community through their surveys to be apart of voxbox programs where members receive complimentary products to test and review and share their thoughts through their own social media channels. I've been a member for almost a year now and this is my second voxbox I've received. You can view my first voxbox review here!

So this month, I received the Mary Kay Sun-Kissed #MKGLAM Voxbox and I'm in awe!! I've always known about Mary Kay cosmetics and have tried a few of their products before so when they contacted me and told me that I was selected to for this particular voxbox I (literally) jumped for joy! Mary Kay is not sold in stores you can only get it through an independent consultant and I would say their products are in the "high end" category of cosmetics, their prices are too bad I believe it would be comparable to MAC Cosmetics and their prices.

Okay so let's get to it, here's what I received.......and all items are full size might I add....

1. Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color Shy Blush - Retails for $12
I like this blush because its a sheer soft peachy pink color (at least that's how it showed up on my skin tone) with a hint of gold. It's not to bold and it blends out well. It contains Vitamins A, C and E to help protect against wrinkle causing free radicals. See Swatch Below.

2. Mary Kay Bronzing Powder In Light/Medium - Retails for $18
This product is also very sheer and is made to create a natural looking sun kissed glow. This particular color is a little light for my skin tone, it comes in one other color which is Medium/Dark which might be the best color for my skin. The luminous pearl finish is buildable and it never looks dry on skin. See Swatch Below.

3. Mary Kay Cream Eye Color / Concealer Brush - Retails for $10
With this brush you can apply any cream product. It has synthetic bristles and a tapered shape.

4. Mary Kay Powder Brush - Retails for $16
I believe this was a bonus item in some voxboxes, I didn't see it on the product card that was sent with the box. I feel so lucky to have received it in my box!! This brush has natural bristles that help to with a smooth application of loose and pressed powders to help set foundation. You can also use it to apply bronzers, blush and contour the face.

5. Mary Kay Cream Eye Color In Apricot Twist - Retails for $14
I like this gold cream eye color, its long wearing and it can also be used a primer. It dries quickly and is oil and fragrance free. See Swatch Below.

6. Mary Kay Lash Love Mascara In I Heart Black Retails for $15
I like the flexible brush on this mascara wand, its made to separate and coat your lashes. This mascara defines, defends and delivers four times the volume. It is also waterproof, flake, smudge and clump resistant.

7. Mary Kay NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss In Mango Tango - Retails for $14
Rich, Intense, Long Wearing, Smooths, Protects and Conditions lips, I'm not really sure if I like this color. Its more of a red-orange on my skin tone. See Swatch Below.

8. Mary Kay Gel Eyeliner with Expandable Brush Applicator In Jet Black - Retails for $18
Let me begin by saying I love the mini expandable brush that comes with it! Perfect for traveling or sticking in your cosmetic bag. The Gel Eyeliner is long wearing and smudge proof, lightweight and dries quickly. See Swatch Below.

9. Mary Kay Translucent Loose Powder - Retails for $16
Made to control unwanted shine all day, its sheer and feels weightless. Now, I'm not a fan of translucent powders because of the white cast effect it creates on your face and especially in pictures. If I use this product I will only use it sparingly. See Swatch Below.

The Mary Kay Sun-Kissed #MKGLAM Voxbox arrived in a pretty black and pink box with pink tissue paper which are Mary Kay's signature colors. It also has a decorative saying printed (see the first picture in this blog post) in the top of the box saying Hello Gorgeous! I thought that was so girlie and cute!!

After receiving all of these products, I believe I'm going to take more interest in the Mary Kay Brand and check out what other products they offer. For more information about Mary Kay visit their website at www.marykay.com.

*I received these products complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster, all opinions, thoughts and views are my very own.

Whish Body Oil Review

Happy Wednesday! Have you heard of Whish Body products? Well if not, I'm here to tell you about an amazing body oil that will leave your skin glowing. The Whish Restoring Body Oil works to soothe, moisturize and restore your skin's natural luminance. I love that it is packaged in a slender and sleek glass bottle that has a pump, it would look lovely sitting on your desk at work, vanity or bathroom counter.

The Whish Restoring Body Oil is enriched with globuria cordifolia callus extract which increases skin luminance, olive leaf extract and green tea leaf to moisturize and a blend of sesame seed oil to firm skin. It's available in six essential oil based flavors: Almond, Lemongrass, Pomegranate, Lavender, Coconut and Blueberry. I used the Blueberry Whish Body Oil and it did make my skin glow, the blueberry scent is awesome the only thing I noticed it really didn't hydrate my skin like I wanted it to. I normally use lotions and creams on my body to hydrate and moisturize my skin.

You only have to use a little bit of this body oil because pumping too much could get a bit messy. I like this product a lot but I'm thinking I may just use this as a massage oil versus using it as an everyday moisturizer.

All Whish products are Paraben Free, Sulfate Free, TEA & DEA Free, and Petrochemical Free plus its all natural. Oh and their products are not tested on animals. The Whish Restoring Body Oil is available in 3.5 ounce container for $28 at Nordstrom.com.
